JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Residential Direct Support Professional is support position responsible for providing training, advocacy and support services to adult individuals with disabilities in their homes and to assist residents with development and management of basic living and social skills. Provide assistance to On-Site Manager with medication record keeping; daily job/staff/resident assignment logs and other administrative tasks as required. Responsible for management of resident’s laundry to include washing/drying/folding and cleaning and maintenance of interior and exterior of residence.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist adult residents with their daily living tasks to include: cooking, cleaning, bathing, etc. and help them to integrate into the community to the best of their ability
- Transport residents to and from home to medical appointments and activities
- Implementation of resident’s ISP and IPP goals and modeling and teaching appropriate living skills
- Crisis management and behavioral interventions as necessary
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 21 years of age
- Possess a High School Diploma
- Ability to meet Community Care Licensing requirements to include: (1) physical examination (2) TB test (3) DOJ and FBI criminal record clearance
- A valid California driver’s license, personal vehicle insurance coverage, and a clean driving record
- Minimum two years experience in a residential home environment and /or supervision of individuals with developmental disabilities in a work activity or day program
- Ability to work well with a diverse population of clients, families, and staff
